ACI was proud to be a sponsor for a local version of Extreme Home Makeover .

The home at 55 Pleasant Avenue in Tonka Bay has earned the title of the “Velveteen Rabbit.” Steve and Jan Sharp have dedicated their lives to a family of three biological children, 30 foster children and two adopted children. After so many children and so many years the home needed some serious updating and remodeling. The Sharps had selflessly invested their money in the support and care of their 35 children, not their home which consisted of plywood floors, a patch work of carpet, and splintered counter tops. The Sharp project began as a group of local good Samaritans wanting to give help and support to a neighbor and flourished into a project supported by the community at large.

With volunteers from our field crew and their equipment, ACI installed a driveway to last the family years. On August 26th, 2007 the Sharp family were able to yell “MOVE THAT TRUCK!” and two ACI dump trucks driven by Eric Weller and Richard Glunz pulled away to reveal a result truly worthy to be called an Extreme Home Makeover.
